A little bit of everything

Today is not a blog post so much as it's a mish mash of lots of different things.

First of all, for any writers out there who hadn't already heard, the Toronto Romance Writers has this fantastic writing contest for unpublished (see definition of "unpublished" writers on the website). This contest has consistently provided judging of the very highest calibre and in previous years the golden ticket round judge has been Ms. Kristen Nelson of Nelson Literary Agency.

This year, the TRW agreed to change the name of its contest to The Catherine, in order to honour the life and contributions to the romance world of the late Ms. Catherine Witmer.

If you're thinking of entering any writing contests this year, The Catherine should be on that list, but get your entries in soon! The deadline is June 1st. Tell them that last year's winner sent you *wink*

But now...moving along...I have great news! I've just sold a new story to Ellora's Cave! It's a quick little Steampunk set in CHINA that should be out shortly, and will be called Iron Seduction. (he he he) I'm excited and I hope everyone likes it!

And speaking of Ellora's Cave, I'll be attending the Romanticon Conference this year and giving a workshop called Shivers, about the rising popularity of horror in romance. (I'm telling everyone because I hope someone comes to it, but conveniently refuses to notice my "stage fright"!)

But hey, that's not all.

Finally, Falling Hard is finally finally going to be released in July, and I finally have a cover! I'm so excited!!

FALLING HARD

After a life filled with tragedy, rocker Gabriel Gunn thinks he's finally getting the better of his personal demons. Then he's attacked after a concert—and rescued by a warrior goddess brandishing a sword and white wings. As hard as it is to believe in an angelic bodyguard, Gabriel must face an even more impossible truth: he carries the devil's soul within him.

Amelia has been watching over Gabriel for years, using her angelic powers to prevent Lucifer's return. Now she must also protect him from warring angel factions with their own agendas. Amelia would do anything to avert another angelic war, even sacrifice her own emotions to avoid temptation. Yet with Gabriel she feels things she no longer wants to deny, and pleasure she never imagined.

But the closer Gabriel and Amelia get, the stronger Lucifer becomes. Will Amelia be forced to kill the man she's come to love to stop the war she's always feared?

As I told you the other night, you really need to work on this high concept stuff. LOL!

And look at you doing a workshop! I'm so proud of you, and I can't wait to hear how it goes. (As I won't even do horror movies, I'll have to celebrate with you from afar. *g*)

I've been considering entering the Catherine. Hmmm....must consider more seriously.
