Two Books to Buy Today

So I'm not that good at the rhyming title things like Sarah MacLean is. Sigh. Avon recently sent me two books--a historical and contemporary--that release today that everyone should check out. Thank you, Avon!!!

First up is Sarah MacLean's TEN WAYS TO BE ADORED WHEN LANDING A LORD:

Pretty cover. Love the sexy stepback. Seriously, I want a stepback; I don't care if I do write contemporary.

Here's the back blurb:
"Lord Nicholas is a paragon of manhood. And his eyes, Dear Reader! So blue!”
Pearls & Pelisses, June 1823

Since being named on of London’s "Lords to Land" by a popular ladies’ magazine, Nicholas St. John has been relentlessly pursued by every matrimony-minded female in the ton. So when an opportunity to escape fashionable society presents itself, he eagerly jumps—only to land in the path of the most determined, damnably delicious woman he’s ever met!

The daughter of a titled wastrel, Lady Isabel Townsend has too many secrets and too little money. Though used to taking care of herself quite handily, her father’s recent passing has left Isabel at sea and in need of outside help to protect her young brother’s birthright. The sinfully handsome, eminently eligible Lord Nicholas could be the very salvation she seeks.

But the lady must be wary and not do anything reckless…like falling madly, passionately in love.

10 WAYS is the second in the series but can be read as a standalone. It's charming, fun, and a book that I think a lot of romance readers will love. I definitely think 10 WAYS will be another NYT/USA Today Bestseller. Sarah MacLean continues to cement her place in the romance author world as one to watch.
Second up is Lori Wilde's THE FIRST LOVE COOKIE CLUB. (Such a great title, but I am not impartial because as a young kid my favorite character on Sesame Street was--and still is--Cookie Monster.)
Cute cover. Definitely puts me in the holiday mood--and a desire to have cupcakes with Richard Armitage in front of a fireplace. A girl can dream.

Back blurb:

“On Christmas Eve, if you sleep with kismet cookies under your pillow and dream of your one true love, he will be your destiny.”

The townsfolk of Twilight, Texas, believe the legend, but not Sarah Collier—not since she was a pudgy teenager, running down the church aisle on Christmas Day in a jingle bell sweater and reindeer antlers, trying to stop Travis Walker from marrying someone else. She may be grown up, slimmed down, bestselling children’s book author “Sadie Cool” now, but Sarah will never forget that day. And she’ll never fall foolishly in love again!

But when a letter from a sick fan brings Sarah back to Twilight, she’s shocked to discover that Travis is the little girl’s father—unattached and hotter than ever. His movie-star smile still makes her melt, but Sarah knows that ship has sailed. Travis, however, might have different ideas.

And just because you don’t believe in fairy tales doesn’t mean they won’t come true…

Confession: I am a total sucker for these type of stories. I LOVE THEM. Give me a wallflower and rake ANY DAY, and I will be happy, happy, happy. FIRST LOVE is the third in a series but can also be read as a standalone. Delightful, heartwarming, and sweet.

What books are you looking forward to that release today?

Thanks for the recs, Ely. Is it awful to say I don't even know what comes out today? I ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon which I guess will remind me when they arrive. I've been so immersed in the WIP & other stuff my reading has fallen off alarmingly.

So many good books. Not nearly enough time to read them all!

Ely, I'm looking forward to both Ten Ways and Cookie Club. Also looking forward to The Reckless Bride, the last book in the Black Cobra quartet from Stephanie Laurens.

Tiff, I've already read His Darkest Embrace. Loved it!

Sorry everyone! It's been a crazy day!

Maggie, I'm hitching you back on the bandwagon. ;)

Tiff, I need to buy Juliana's book. I'm always up for a good para.

Hellion, I loved Sarah's book. I really think Sarah is the next JQ.

PJ, I can't believe Laurens is at the last book in that series already. I'll be sad when it's over. :( And you will love both Sarah and Lori's books!

The Cookie Club sounds yum! I like the "sick fan" plot that got Sarah to meet Travis again. I hope his daughter is not seriously ill and there's happy ending.
