Party for Goddess of the Hunt!

*Note: Janet Mullany had to reschedule and will be here on August 4th*

Let's just start with this statement: Goddess of the Hunt is awesome.

And follow it up with: Tessa Dare is awesome.

In honor of GOTH's release day, we Vixens decided to have a party.

Woohoo! Yay! Congrats, Tessa!

In case you don't know what GOTH is about, here is the blurb from Tessa's website:

Ever the bold adventuress, Lucy Waltham has decided to go hunting for a husband. But first she needs some target practice. So she turns to her brother’s best friend, Jeremy Trescott, the Earl of Kendall, to hone her seductive wiles on him before setting her sights on another man. But her practice kisses spark a smoldering passion—one that could send all her plans up in smoke.

Jeremy has an influential title, a vast fortune, and a painful past, full of long-buried secrets. He keeps a safe distance from his own emotions, but to distract Lucy from her reckless scheming, he must give his passions free rein. Their sensual battle of wills is as maddening as it is delicious, but the longer he succeeds in managing the headstrong temptress, the closer Jeremy comes to losing control. When scandal breaks, can he bring himself to abandon Lucy to her ruin? Or will he risk his heart, and claim her for his own?
Elyssa: It all started in Fanlit and with the Chocolate Mafia where I first met Tessa. I knew she was talented and that one day she would sell. I just didn't know that I would end up calling Tessa my friend. I still remember when she sent me GOTH after it was done, and I literally could not stop reading it. I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love. I sent off a gushing (and most likely non-sensical) e-mail off to Tessa. I consider myself very, very, very lucky that A) Tessa still lets me read all her books and B) She puts up with my neuroses. :-) I think, that most importantly, that Tessa constantly pushes herself in her writing---every single time, I say this is her best book, she writes another best book. And, also, she has really great taste in men.

Tiffany: That's where I met Tessa, too. It all began with Fanlit. She was meant to write to her heart's content and hopefully make many bestselling lists in the coming year or two. :) Those days of the Choco Mafia were a lot of fun and I did meet a lot of great people through the late sleepless nights of that contest. Tessa has been an inspiration just to know, but I was lucky enough to read her third book in rough (but really there is no such thing as rough for Tessa) form. Her books will wow you and tease you. They'll make you smile and laugh and they'll make you count down the days till the next release! WOOHOO Tessa, the day is finally here!

Maggie: During FanLit, Tessa e-mailed me because she noticed I worked in a library. We wound up sending each other our chapter entries, and I was blown away by her every word. I was lucky enough to read Tessa's first two books in fledgling form. Can I tell you I sat at my computer with a sappy smile on my face the whole time? You know the great feeling you get when you have found a writer who can move you on all levels? You just know you're in expert hands and you will enjoy the ride all the way up to The End.Tessa is that kind of writer, and I am so happy that the rest of the world is going to get that sappy smile on their face soon. Congratulations, Tessa! You are the Goddess!

J.K.: I'm one of the few of this group who glommed onto all the wonderful writers after Fan Lit via the VaNo group and was lucky enough then to be graced with the odd snippet here and there of Tessa's amazing writing. I feel very privileged to be witness to her debut novel and will be in the front of the line for every one of the hundreds of brilliant books Ms. Dare is destined to release in future! Congratulations!

Congrats, Tessa, on your debut and to the start of a long, successful career!

What are you waiting for? Buy GOTH now!

YOU GUYS.....!!!!

OMG, this is like having a surprise party all over again! Only with even more people to hug and cry over.

All of you have been so incredibly sweet and supportive over the past almost-3 years. I don't know what I would have done without you. But it probably wouldn't be celebrating the publication of this book!

And what makes it so much better is knowing that you're all such talented writers and we'll have so many similar celebrations in the future.

Mwah. I love you.

This has been such a fun journey to watch. So glad we found you through Fanlit and thank you for the privelege of reading some of your work in MS form. Found GOTH at B&N last night and dug in as soon as I got home. It's so amazing. You're so amazing. Really, there's no way to express how good this is.

Everyone just has to read it for themselves. LOL!

Tessa, seeing GOTH on bookshelves is like watching a friend's child graduate; reading all the accolades from PW, LJ, and RT is like seeing the child graduate summa cum laude.

I'm lifting a glass to the beginning of a long and successful career for Tessa Dare, romance novelist extraordinaire!

But absorbing all the complementary comments about GOTH I've just got to read it now!

I just wanted to echo that Tessa is such a lovely, nice person and has always shared her success with others. No big attitudes or cattiness. It is so great to share your big day, TD!
